Character Outfits
These are fun little things to put together and wear, especially for Halloween. If you have any ideas, E-mail Me
Dib Outfit
Dib’s outfit goes first, because his is by far the coolest. You don’t have to have a trenchcoat to enjoy this one, but it would help. Lately, long, black, netted trenchcoat-sweaters have been coming in for girls. Black pants are an easy addition, and black boots are very common. To do the shirt, you can find any old blue thing and add a silver face using puffy paint or fabric paint (use a circle stencil!). If you want to go with the traditional yellow happy face, they sell iron-ons at craft stores that can help, but I think you have to have a white shirt to use them.
Trenchcoats range from anywhere from $20-over $100 (for the really expensive ones. Boots are also in the price range. Shirts can cost anywhere from about $6-$20, and the iron-ons are about 2 bucks. Dib's outfit is also the priciest of all the character outfits :-) The long, black, netted trenchcoat-sweaters I've been talking about can be found at places such as Reference, Nordstrom, and Macy's. At a sale price, they can be about $15, but at the regular price, they can be as expensive as $68.
Gaz Outfit
Gaz’s outfit is a bit interesting. You can use any black dress or a black sleeveless shirt/black skirt combination. Wearing the grey lined t-shirt under it is optional. For stockings, either use gray or silver. Complete with black boots/shoes. And definitely don’t forget the skull necklace. You can either make one out of clay or try your hand at finding one at your nearest accessory store. If your parents don’t mind, you can go over the top and die your hair purple. Now you can walk out into to world with a Game Boy (‘Slave’ ^.^) in one hand, a pizza in the other, and an attitude in your heart.
Stockings aren't that expensive, about $5, and many of you should have black skirts or shirts lying around in your closet. If not, you can find some at Target, EX, or Reference for about $5-$25. Accessories range from $5-$10.
Invader Zim Outfit
Well, I don’t recommend you wearing a red dress with pink cuffs unless you REALLY want to. For a normal, I-Can-Actually-Go-Outside-Wearing-This-And-Still-Have-My-Dignity attire, wear a red shirt (or a red shirt with black lines if you can find one). Under it goes black pants and black boots. Add some black hand gloves if you want. For a backpack, you can try you hand at actually finding a white, round, pink-polka dotted thing, or you can make one using your sewing skills and white fabric with pink polka dots, stuffing in between the fabric with cotton and adding a zipper.
Zim's outfit is also a little pricy, mostly because of the gloves and boots. Gloves can range anywhere from $10-$50, as go for the boots. The shirt is about $10, and the backpack should be in that price range too.
